  • I'm afraid you misunderstand me. I was not being sarcastic: I do believe and know there are Muslims like you everywhere in the world. And I am not isolated. I have lived abroad and I have many friends abroad, as well as friends who are Muslim (including one from your country, Egypt).

  • Absolutely agreed that your scenario could easily play out here, and that it would be horrible, but one difference is that this country does not have legislation allowing for the murder of someone expressing a religious opinion (if she even did, in this case).

  • It seems to me that whenever Muslims talk about Islam being peaceful they talk about the very distant past. No religion exists as an abstraction in some kind of bubble. Religion only exists in the interpretations, beliefs and actions of its adherents.

  • Well part of the problem with this is that anyone born in this country is automatically an American citizen and entitled to a US passport, even if they are then taken out of the country as babies and from then on live elsewhere.
